Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2012 - 2017

Due to our recent upgrade of accommodation and location, TripAdvisor's policies meant that they had to remove our long standing 5 star rating along with the 321 personal guest reviews. We respect this, but while the new reviews start to come in we wanted to give you a taste the previous guest insights; you'll find them below…

Trip Advisor Reviews 2012 - 2017

Thankfully from August 2018 we’re accommodating everyone in a new beach front villa with spacious ensuite rooms, an infinity pool, glass dining area and unrestricted views of the sea and mountains. Couple this with our legendary service and we're looking forward to reading your holiday stories again soon.

NOTE: We have not removed any lower scoring reviews, we're proud to say these were the most recent ones!

Super trip away

I could wax lyrical about this place all day but I’ll sum it up with...spot on!

I needed a break and fancied something a little more active than just lazing in the sun.

The morning yoga really fired up the body ready for each day of surfing; I was pretty rusty so understandably, everything ached. The surf instruction was clear, accessible and in a relaxed manner - you have to be relaxed on the board so this always helps. The guys delivered little gems of wisdom bit by bit to keep topping up knowledge, boosting confidence and progress. There was a really mix of age, ability and culture during my stay, which made for really friendly and entertaining meals and chats on the roof top.

Denny and Nige have got a great thing going here with a solid team and it’s the strong communal vibe about the camp that, unsurprisingly, has everyone returning or, like myself, keen to book the next trip in asap.

Winter surf break

5 Stars

2 Friends and I recently stayed here for a short break, and went with the surf guiding option. Although I've surfed in quite a few countries, I've never stayed in a surf camp before, or even hired a guide to take me to the breaks, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect.

All I can say is that these guys are superb! We were a little unlucky swell-wise (just a fact of life with surfing - it can happen anywhere), but we still surfed every day, and Nige and the team made sure we surfed a variety of breaks, which made it a really fun trip.

The food was great, and I liked the atmosphere in the camp too. We all felt really well looked after.

Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back! :)

Hands down, the best.

The best guiding. The best teaching. The best food. There is a reason they are the original and best surf camp in Morocco. Attention to detail. Two of the best weeks of my life spent here this past October. Cannot wait to return. Daniel P - (16 November 2017)

Best surf experience you can imagine

5 Stars

One of the best surf experiences I've ever had. Danny and his crew take such a good care of you that you feel like one family. Great surf instructors, amazing surfing spots, beer at your disposal and the best dinner you can imagine every night makes it your #1 place to surf and meet amazing people. 3rd time visit: absolutely off the charts

5 Stars

I've now been 3 times at MSA; time to write a fantastic review. Staff is really nice, food is amazing, it's not expensive and the crowd has been really chill every time. Oh and don't forget the hassle free surfing that is facilitated for you every day with awesome lessons! Mfsnijder - (13 October 2017)

Fantastic experience

5 Stars

My girlfriend and I decided to give surfing a try, and figured a week long residential course was the way to go. It was definitely the best way to learn to surf, and the reviews here were spot on, MSA is fantastic.

From landing in Agadir everything was completely taken care of until they dropped us right back at the same spot a week later. They run a daily routine which you can see on the website, and that is broadly how every day goes. They make slight adjustments for tides and stuff like that but everything's really well communicated.

They will take you to a surf spot to match you experience level, and you just have to turn up and grab a board. The instruction we received was brilliant, and there wasn't a load of messing about on the shore they just did some basic principles before throwing us in the water. I've learnt a lot of sports and this felt really appropriate and balanced. You can kind of take it at your own pace as well, but if you're mega keen you'll catch a lot of waves.

There's a nice amount of time to chill in the evenings before and after dinner (7.30), and plenty of places to lounge around. You can choose to participate as much as you like in the general community of the surf camp. Sometimes we just read our books and had a drink together, but most of the time we hung out with the other guests and staff. Anyone going to a surf camp is probably going to be good company, we met some really interesting people. Talk to the staff - they're great fun and have some wicked life experiences to share.

The food deserves it's own review, it was fantastic. Every night the chef, Momo, creates some of the tastiest dishes I've ever had. You'll eat a lot because you're so active, so we always got to try a bit of everything. Everything we ate felt Moroccan but was also familiar enough that even fussy eaters will be happy. In all honesty, the main reason I didn't want to leave at the end of our week was the food.

If I spent all my holidays here I'd be happy

Very Good

We were there with my husband and it was so cool! Good location, nice house, friendly stuff, nice people arround, amazing food and chef momo was the best!! I am vegetarian and the food was awesome! And good yoga with great yoga teacher.

Just one tip- if You are going in this time of the year, then bring a lot of warm clothes. Because evenings and early mornings were cold. (Socks, beanie, sweater, warm jacket, rain jacket, decent shoes)

Simply amazing!!!

The best guiding from beginners to advanced, the most incredible flavoursome food (you will not go hungry here) and amazing morning yoga classes to stretch out those sore shoulders and send out good vibes to the world. Spending 2 weeks here I really felt part of a big family. So many amazing and talanted people under one roof. Highly recommend this place to anyone of any surfing level!! Looking forward to coming back again soon! Keep up the amazing work and a big thanks to the whole team for everything. Robbie S - (4 March 2018)

Just awesome!!!

A friend whom I met on another surf trip highly recommended Moroccan Surf Adventures to me and I finally managed to give it a try in November 2017.

The initial contact with Denny and Nigel via e-mail was already a pleasant experience due to the swift and on-point responses.

Pickup from the airport worked flawlessly. They sent a driver just for me (same thing happened on my departure). Crew and guests were instantly likeable and I very much enjoyed my first evening already. Great mix of old and young people! Met a lot of people who came numerous times to stay at Moroccan Surf Adventures.

First day of surfing was wonderful after having paused more than one year. We were checking several spots to find the one with the best surfing conditions. The surf guiding team could take the easy way out and just drop you at one of the nearby breaks, but instead they do not shy away from longer trips up the coastline just to really find the perfect place for the day's conditions. The longer bus rides were no problem and Rajesh must be Morocco's smoothest and safest driver.

As an intermediate surfer I was very happy to be tutored by Scott and Joe. Those guys are amazing surf coaches. Especially Scott Rannochan (former pro surfer) got a hard to find talent of really being able to spot and explain your surfing mistakes in a dead-on fashion. Some guest had already commented very positively on Scott's coaching skills on the first evening, but it was only during the following days that I really appreciated how lucky I was. Scott tips and insight gave me a new perspective on proper surfing. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Scott taught me more about surfing than I had learned during the last 10 years.

I was also lucky to be able to surf with Joe. He always takes care of you in the lineup making you feel safe to push your comfort zone when the surf gets bigger. And this guy also rips!

Being a little older already, I really enjoyed the chilled and quiet time during my stay. It was very pleasant to just drop exhausted into bed, fall asleep within 5 minutes and then have an uninterrupted deep sleep until the morning (after 2 days not even the prayer guys were able to disrupt my sleeping pattern).

Food was high quality stuff also. Even the lunch packets were extremely tasty. And how were those fresh fruit juices? One magnitude better then the one's I get at home.

So much more to tell... Momo's delicious food and interesting cooking classes, Mohamed's sport massages to get you ready for the next day's surfing action, etc., but that's all for now - I still need to book my flight to Morocco for next March for my 2nd stay at Moroccan Surf Adventures!

...good food with great company. I can thoroughly recommend MSA to those wishing to try and/or improve their surfing. Do note though that because of new security you are now picked up outside the terminal if collected from the airport. Jocelyn W - Chew Stoke, UK - (5 October 2017)

A must...

Great place, with great food and great people. Definitely the place to learn, everyone very friendly and happy to help. Seems a lot more personal than the other surf schools we came across, if you want to be known by name rather than a number.... This is the place for you. Thanks for your patience and encouragement Smiley x UkMags - UK - (13 June 2017)
